Literature Night-2008

When I was primary 4, in China, my school held a program called Literature Night. It started from five in the evening until 7 pm. In this program, each student and teacher were required to dress as one of their favourite character from a book or movie, and put on a skit, parents are invited too. I decided to dress up as The Phantom of the Opera. I was also required to act in some Greek play so I had to wear two costumes. This photo here shows me before the play( I had my hair done already) After that, I had to go to the restroom to start changing. The changing part took ten minutes, but putting the white cream on my face took twenty minutes. My mother was the one who helped me put the cream because she knew that I would mess it up(Left picture) Soon I was ready to go and enjoy the rest of the evening.

The first place I went was the canteen as there were many delicious snacks made by the Parent Helpers. So I settled down, ate some brownies and a Japanese dessert. Next I visited the library as there was a storytelling session. After the session, I went to the Grade 3 classroom where free ice-cream was given out. I can tell that the ice-cream was vanilla-flavoured, and it was mixed with Oreo and something that look like mud. The ice-cream was made because they were telling a story of a worm and the ice-cream was meant to describe the place where the worm lived. At first the parents thought it was real mud but it turned out to be ice-cream.

Soon it was 7pm, and everybody was required to leave the school compound. School buses were provided to send the students home. On the bus, I had to wipe off the cream as it scared a driver while I was looking out of the window. It was 9pm when we reached home, we were all exhausted. Even though we were tired, it was still a fun night for all of us.
