Aliens in the Attic

My favourite movie is called "Aliens in the Attic". I watched this movie with two of my friends at a sleepover party. I really enjoyed watching this movie because it is action-packed, and it taught me to have team spirit. The plot of the movie is mainly about four aliens, also known as Zirkonians going to invade Earth, and the children, who were on a summer holiday, have to save their parents from becoming alien- zombies. Before the invasion, the children were not close to their families and between themselves. Though after the invasion, they grew closer to one another. One of the main characters was Tom Pearson, he was a techno- geek, because of this reason he started failing his grades purposely just to fit in in school. After this alien invasion, he changed his mind about failing his grades as he realised that being a geek has its advantages. The other main character was Jake Pearson, Tom's cousin. Jake was a teenager that acts rashly and known as one of the cool people, which was the total opposite of Tom. Tom and Jake were not that close because of their interests and personalities, but after the invasion they became best buddies. As Tom had saved Jake once, and Jake had helped Tom in the battle against the aliens.
I would recommend this movie to both adults and children as it is suitable for all ages. If you want to watch this movie, you can only buy the DVD or rent it.

Difficulties in English

The difficulties I have in English are usually making grammar mistakes, and subject-verb mistakes. I make grammar mistakes commonly in my composition, and summary. For subject-verb mistakes are made in all English papers, but more commonly found in compositions. For comprehension, I make mistakes such as misinterpreting words. Thus, I get the wrong impression of the word, so my answer for that question is wrong.

In summary, the most common mistakes I make are misinterpreting words, grammar mistakes or wrong paraphrasing. In my CA2, the mistakes that I make was not completing the point, or describing the point wrongly. The second mistake I make was being very long-winded. Sometimes, in the long-winded sentences, the point is not really brought out, or not clear enough.
For my SA2, I hope that I would not make any careless mistake, espicially grammar mistakes and subject-verb mistakes.

My trip to Australia, Melbourne

During this June holidays, my family and my cousin's family visited my uncle's family in Australia. We went to many places like Philip Island, the Twelve Apostles, the Koala Reserve, and many more. We also went for the Great Ocean Drive which took 6 hours before reaching the Twelve Apostles.

First, we went to Philip Island to see the penguins returning from the South. The temperature was freezing as we were sitting right before the sea. There were about 480 penguins returning to their families. After the programme, our parents went to the souvenir shop to do shopping.

The next day we went for the Great Ocean Drive heading towards out next destination: The Twelve Apostles. The night before the drive, we went to Cosco, a supermarket which is as big as Ikea in Singapore, to get snacks and food. The next day, we woke up at 5:30am to start moving all the necessary items into the van. Since all of us were so sleepy, we spent the whole journey sleeping or stopping for photographs. When we reached our destination, we had to go for a short hike up a cliff to see the view. (picture shown right) After this,we went to a koala bear reserve. We spotted 5 koalas, and one of them was quite close to us. Since it was near, my older cousin and some adults started throwing twigs at it to wake to koala from its slumber. I think one hit the koala as it started moving away from us. Next, we were allowed to feed the parrots outside a store in the reserve. We put seeds and nuts on our palms, soon many parents, ducks and pigeons flew towards us. One of them even landed on my brother's head as there were scraps of nuts on him.

After this two day drive, the last place I went was the museum. I went there because there was an exhibition of King Tut, the Egyptian boy Pharaoh. Items were brought from Egypt and the golden coffin was brought over too. Before we entered that exhibition,we went to look at others. In the human body exhibition, real organs were used to construct the body systems for us to see. The intestines were all shriveled up and yellow in colour. It was kind of disgusting to see. It was a wonderful experience.

Soon, it was also time for us to return to Singapore. I had really enjoyed my time in Australia and I really want to visit it again.
